A point about my beloved hometown is starting to irk me. This point has always had the capacity to irk; however, now it has come to the fore and is causing me to no longer be the cheerful spreader of sweetness and light I am known to be. I speak of the nasty presence of too many of my own species (men) wherever I go.

The Uttaranchal police, while denying that there was any interference or pressure from the British high commission for registering the complaint, said that the lady left for Delhi after refusing a medical checkup. That the communist big shots of West Bengal have repeatedly accepted and still accept bribes from the Chinese government is a fact that is well known. In lieu of these payoffs, the Left Front government leaders reveal military and diplomatic secrets of India to China and stymie the progress of positive nuclear and other reforms in India so that India can never become a superpower and so that India can never pose a threat or an obstruction to China's interests in becoming a superpower.

Why Syria Matters to Us
by
Deborah J. Thompson
Syria has been in the news almost daily for the past 17 months. But how many of us really understand what is happening there and how it matters to us? Father Nadim Nassar is the first and only Episcopal Priest of Syrian descent in the Church of England and recently granted me an interview. This fascinating and information exchange hopefully allowed me to strike the right balance between information, relevance to the readers, and historical context. Is the Iran-Syria War Pact Still Intact?
by
Lance Winslow
Several years ago, the Iranian and Syrian Leadership entered a very verbal and highly publicized war-pact, most likely due to the Iran's worry that it might someday in the future find itself in a war with Israel or the United States. Adding Syria's military might to Iran's could insure that an attack on either would be met with a much larger and stronger force than either one might muster by themselves.

Europe is quiet on the issue.

Why Syria Matters to Us
by
Deborah J. Thompson
Syria has been in the news almost daily for the past 17 months. But how many of us really understand what is happening there and how it matters to us? However, much of its international tourism has focussed on a few specific areas. How Encouragement of New Working Practices Can Enhance the North West's Economy and Sustainability
by
Jewel Gallagher
Derry city is a hub for innovation and enjoys an empowered support system through local Chambers, EU bodies and Cross Border Economic Partnerships. Strategically remote, intelligent planning and investment has boosted the region's status and supported on-going competitive development. Economic sustainability seems to be a concern behind the support but remote living and static work arrangements are very much a problem of the past in many UK regions.

Visit North West Norfolk
by
Ian SG Smith
Norfolk is one of those delightful places in England that is deliciously free of motorway traffic, because there isn't one. In fact Norfolk is a place you have to want to go to, because you can't just stop off there on the way to somewhere else. To the uninitiated tourist, Norfolk is that big round bump that sticks out on the right hand side of England, with the North Sea all around it, and then that big bite called The Wash to the north west of it.

South African Travel Tips When Visiting The North West Province
by
Gerald Crawford
The North West Province experiences warm to hot summers and cold to very cold winters. This province offers almost year-round sunshine meaning visitors will spend very few days indoors. The province enjoys a summer rainfall, which normally sees thunderstorms occurring in the late afternoon. Rain falls mainly between December and March, however the more west one travels the drier it becomes.

Tom Petty - The Waiting
by
James L. Flynn
"The Waiting" was one of the most difficult songs that Tom Petty ever wrote. The chorus and the main guitar riff came to him quickly, but the rest of the song eluded him for several weeks. I guess we know that he figured it out in the end, but how?

Neil Young's "Old Man" - The Meaning (and Musicians) Behind the Song
by
Kenn Morr
The song "Old Man" first appeared on Neil Young's 1972 Harvest album. With its thumping and raggedly-picked acoustic guitar, high-tenor lead vocals and over-all folk sound and feel "Old Man" has become one of Neil Young's most memorable tunes. What was the inspiration behind this song and what famous musicians lent their talents to create this musical masterpiece?

Shut Up And Sing
by Maya Pinion
What is it with these performers and their politics? Do they really think that people who pay $100 or more to hear them sing want to hear them utter political opinions? The audience pays hundreds of thousands of dollars to see and hear a performer PERFORM. You want to spout politics, run for freakin office, you moron! When performers use a paid venue to play politics they are abusing the paying audience, the venue, the sponsors and everyone connected to their artistic performance. It's an inappropriate venue and inapproprite behavior to voice your political viewpoint, you jerk! And they wonder why people boo.

Katy Perry's Teen Choice Costumes
by
Todd Denning
At the 2010 Teen Choice Awards last month, pop star Katy Perry didn't disappoint the audience with her visual hostessing skills. Changing into seven costumes in addition to her other stage wear, Perry made sure to mock every single high-school cliche with her getups. Her costume included rock-chick, geek, goth, hippie, cheerleader, prom queen and strapless strips. It's hard to say which teen costume was the favorite of the night, they each were so hysterical and on target.

Mumford and Sons' Unique New Sound
by
Ricky Adams
Mumford and Sons' passionate sound, poetic lyrics and chilling harmonies ooze with authenticity, awing listeners and leaving them asking, "Where did these guys come from?" Mumford and Sons hail from London's Underground, one of today's most fertile environments for growing musical talent, and has since emerged as one of music's best live acts. However, the band's future was not always so bright.

Lamar Odom - Why They Call Him "The Goods"
by
P. Albert
Lamar Odom is well-known among basketball fans because of his versatile style of play. What most of them might now know is that Odom was once given the nickname "The Goods" because that is what he practically delivered during every game during his younger years. Back when he was a star with the University of Rhode Island, Odom would help lead the team to the conference championship and also gave them their first A-10 tournament championship.

2006 Will Be Breakout Year for Lamar Odom
by
Dennis Macklin
Lamar Odom has always been a good player, albeit at times an enigma, but I think it's fair to say that his name does not come up when discussing the league elite. That could change in 2006 because if the Lakers first two games are any indication, the 6-foot-10 shooting forward out of Rhode Island appears to be on a mission.

The Zen Master Returns to Tinsel Town
by
Jimmy Boyd
After kicking off the NBA season on a winning note, the Zen Master's return to the Lakers looks good. Perhaps, it was Jackson's Zen-like power that propelled Kobe Bryant to a huge game, including a last second game-winning shot in OT against the Nuggets. Or maybe the Kobe/Phil antics are behind each of them and, they are ready to return to their winning ways.

Steve Merril's NBA Fullcourt Report (Thursday, Feb 23)
by
Steve Merril
A big name was traded on Wednesday when the Orlando Magic sent guard Steve Francis to the New York Knicks for Anfernee Hardaway and Trevor Ariza. It was one of many high profile trades over the past month in the NBA. Perhaps the biggest trade of the season occurred in late January when the Indiana Pacers sent Ron Artest to Sacramento for Peja Stojakovic. This trade has worked wonders for both clubs as the Pacers are on a current 6-1 SU (7-0 ATS) run and the Kings are 7-3 SU (8-1-1 ATS) over their past ten games. Both Indiana and Sacramento travel tonight to face division rivals in the Pistons and Lakers. Below is a look at each of these national TV games on TNT for Thursday night.

Lakers-Suns Series Preview
by
Larry Cook
The Lakers and Suns square off in a rematch of last season's dramatic 7 Game series that saw the Lakers blow a 3-1 lead. If the Suns have any chance of making the NBA Finals and reaching their goal, they want no drama again from the Lakers in the first round. "We won Game 1 last year and were feeling good about ourselves," Steve Nash said, "and the next thing you know, we're down 3-1. Hopefully we won't be in that position. That should be good lesson for us."

Taylor Swift - Incredible Talent

Taylor Swift came out of nowhere for most music fans and though initially it was easy to undermine her bubbly blond hair and winning smile, Taylor Swift quickly proved her song-writing talent and handiness with a guitar would win, well, Grammys! Though I too was among the ones who couldn't stomach the thought of another Miley Cyrus, teen-bopper, overnight success, I saw that maybe fans understood something I had initially missed.

It's Premier League match time as Tottenham Hotspur travel to the Reebok Stadium on Saturday to take on Bolton Wanderers in match week eleven

two wins and two draws in their last five matches.

Premier League Match Time: Arsenal Vs Tottenham
by

Premier League match time comes to the Emirates with Arsenal hosting Tottenham Hotspur in a North London derby when the sides meet in a lunch time kick off on Saturday. Arsenal's title bid got a boost, in match week 13, when they beat Everton, even as Chelsea capitulated to Sunderland. In September, a Carling Cup encounter between the sides ended 4-1 in Arsenal's favour. Expect the score-line in Saturday's match to be much closer, with the likes of Gareth Bale and Van der Vaart in action.

Welsh Players Who Could Make Team GB in the 2012 Olympics
by
Leigh Corbit
There has been a lot reported in the media about the formation of a Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic football team for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games which will be hosted in London. There have been mixed reports from the Home Nations Football Associations with the English FA stating that they are "incredibly positive" that there will be a fully inclusive squad. In response to this statement the Scottish FA have said that although there is nothing that they can do if Scottish players wish to play for their team but they, as an independent body would not support the formation of a Team GB. Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland have similar opinions on the matter so with this in mind I have had a look at the players from each of the home nations who have had Premier League experience. First up is Wales...

Premier League Match Time: Fulham Vs Tottenham
by
Suresh Iyer
Apart from Manchester United, Fulham are the only other unbeaten team this Premier League season. That said, the Cottagers have won just one of their seven matches, drawing the rest. The Spurs haven't discovered their scoring rhythm yet, while the Cottagers are missing their two best strikers to injury. So you can expect a fairly defensive match. Fulham are hard to beat at home, as the likes of Manchester United have found out, this season.

Toshacks Talents - The Future of Welsh Football
by
Adrian Bryan
Long starved of any relative success at International Football Welsh fans have not seen actions at major finals since a John Charles inspired Wales shocked many at the 1958 World cup. Play off heart break, missed penalties and contentious "hand ball" decisions later and the wait continues. However, after some more than creditable wins at under 21 level does the current crop of youngsters mean there is finally some signs of hope on the horizon? We have a look at five great hopes of Welsh Football.

Using Business Gifts To Reward The "Gareth Bale" In Your Company
by
Alan J Grainger
Not every workplace is White Hart Lane or the San Siro and not every employee will get their achievements noticed on such a public stage. But the same principles apply in that the star performers in any team need to be rewarded in order to stave off potentially lucrative offers from your rivals.

Premier League Match Time: Bolton Vs Tottenham
by
Suresh Iyer
It's Premier League match time as Tottenham Hotspur travel to the Reebok Stadium on Saturday to take on Bolton Wanderers in match week eleven
of the Premier League. Bolton have enjoyed the best start to their Premiership campaign since 2006, with just a solitary loss to Liverpool, along with
two wins and two draws in their last five matches.

Fulham Vs Tottenham Hotspur November 2007
by
Lisa Dorgan
On the 6th of November 2007, Fulham were matched up against Tottenham Hotspur at craven Cottage. The supposed lifeless match was a difficult one for Tottenham Hotspur as they unexpectedly took the win from the clutches of Fulham which resulted in several future Fulham tickets being sold out. Although Fulham had shown a high level of play during the series, it was seen to be absent at many instances during this crucial match.

Premier League Match Time: Arsenal Vs Tottenham
by
Suresh Iyer

How to Make Money Online With Blogs - Step 5
by
Locke Dauch
Alright, now on to the good stuff... I assume by now you have created a blog and tried your best to optimize it for search. Hopefully you have also created a few "anchor articles" i.e. long articles with in-depth analysis of your subject. If it's our goal to generate natural Google search traffic we will need to find a way to make our site more important than sites that are above us in the search results. Google looks at each "backlink" and shares merit and strength between your page the one you linked to. So it is logical to assume that we need to place links on sites that have a higher page rank and have subject matter that is relevant to ours.

The Culling of the Social Networks
by
Robin Bloor
We are about to witness the culling of social networks. Take a look at the list of lists in this article. Every species of social networking site is there. In nearly every category there are many competitors. But in most of these categories, it's a game of Highlander - there can only be one. In some categories, the race is over. It's hard to see anyone displacing Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or Wikipedia. LinkedIn may be immovable too. It isn't that other sites that do something similar cannot prosper, just as Hulu is prospering because it doesn't really compete with YouTube. But if you can't find an adjacent niche you're dead meat.

A Brief Review of Daft Punk's Discovery
by
Daniel Rothman
Daft Punk is an electronic music group consisting of the talented French musicians of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. In 2001, following the popularity of their previous album Homework in the late 1990's, Daft Punk released Discovery that exemplified the definition of house electronic music with hit singles such as "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger," which was released before Kanye West decided to make his own rendition of the song (for those who believe he is a true mastermind of rap). In order to analyze the brilliance behind Discovery, I have decided to focus on two songs off the album,...

TRON's Legacy - Not That Far Ahead
by
Jason A Hill
TRON: Legacy has its moments and I admit it is entertaining, but the film falls flat on a weak plot that is little more than a facsimile copy of the original. The original TRON had interesting characters to carry its plot, but Legacy's characters will need the 3D dressing to un-flatten these performances. If you saw the original, nothing in this film will surprise you. It seems to be playing on old TRON fans' curiosity of what they can do with the new CGI, whose best achievement is a young Jeff Bridges's face. As for new viewers to the franchise, it may entertain but this film plays more like an all-night rave than a plot to save the world from digital oppression.

The 5 Best Techno Songs From 1990 to 1995
by
Doug Clyde
I have picked out, in my opinion, the 5 Best Techno Songs from 1990 to1995. I enjoy a wide variety of electronic music, so some of these picks might be better classified as Rave, Electronic Dance, Trance, Eurodance, Electronica or maybe even House. Genres are getting a little too specific anyway, and there are way too many different classifications. So, if the song was at least partly synthetic, and had a good enough beat to dance to it, then it made my list. Techno songs usually have several different mixes of the same song, so if there is a specific version that I like it will be noted after the song title.

Movie Review: Thor 3D
by
Stephen Aspeling
Thor is a joke. Who in their right minds would believe that a blonde muscular caped Scandinavian would possess super strength, the power of flight and run amok whenever the sound of battle filled the air with a big old hammer? It's funny to say that he's the odd one out, because the whole lot of underpants and Lycra-clad superpower boys don't fit in...

The book started a little low but it was actually good as the story goes on. The book was good but not as good as Dan Brown's works, I think. But I guess their books were great in many different ways. Sparks can capture you emotions without much effort. I will definitely read his other novels, soon.

by
Jaskee Hickman
Like the book, the film that goes by the same name tells the story of a teenage girl named Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) who lives with her mother and her sister Prim (Willow Shields). Katniss and her family live in what is now known as Panem, but was once called North America. In Panem, the powers that be hold an event once a year where one boy and one girl from each of the twelve districts compete in a battle to the death competition known as the Hunger Games.

US Open Odds -- Double the Money
by
Chris Shepard
On Monday, despite not playing (due to injury) in the US Open Series WTA event in Toronto, Maria Sharapova became the No. 1 ranked woman on the WTA. Tennis' 18-year-old femme fatale surged ahead of Lindsey Davenport, however, due to her poor showing in US Open Series tournaments Sharapova won't qualify for the bonus money offered by the US Open this year. Sharapova, although No. 1 in the world isn't even the women's favorite to win the US Open this year, while the women's US Open Series odds have point's leader Clijsters at 2/1 to win it all.

Under the Dome by Stephen King - His Best Thriller Yet?
by
John Kilmerstone
Under the Dome by Stephen King was first published towards the backend of 2009. With this novel, King managed to complete 2 previously unfinished works that he started at the end of the 1970's going into the 1980's. Cannibals and Under the Dome were both early efforts that used science fiction to explore the idea of how people behave when they are involuntarily separated from society. King's Under the Dome only retains a single chapter from the original material written.

It is fun to look at all the various conspiracy theories, and take them on one by one as a skeptic. The Jewish Temple Was Not at the Dome of the Rock
by
Robert Reiland
Multiple, irrefutable flaws void claims that Judaism's Temple in Jerusalem was located at the present mosque, The Dome of the Rock. Convincing evidence from Mt. of Olives contours demonstrate vital importance of the Law of the Red Heifer in such analyses. Details about Temple articles, cubit lengths, archaeological finds and "threshingfloor" function bring emphatic evidence to force an obvious conclusion on this question.

Robert Reiland

Details about Temple articles, cubit lengths, archaeological finds and "threshingfloor" function bring emphatic evidence to force an obvious conclusion on this question.
