Teen Choice Awards
History of Teen Choice Awards
by
Andy McCarthy
An awards show for teen viewers was the idea of Bob Bain and Michael Burg, who sought to target a youth demographic a bit older than those that were the focus of Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards. Beginning in 1999, Fox has presented the Teen Choice Awards in honor of teen viewers' picks for the year's greatest achievements in film, TV, music, fashion, athletics, and beyond. The show is complete with celebrity appearances and musical performances with teen appeal for their voting audience ranging in age from 13-19.

Katy Perry's Teen Choice Costumes
by
Todd Denning
At the 2010 Teen Choice Awards last month, pop star Katy Perry didn't disappoint the audience with her visual hostessing skills. Changing into seven costumes in addition to her other stage wear, Perry made sure to mock every single high-school cliche with her getups. Her costume included rock-chick, geek, goth, hippie, cheerleader, prom queen and strapless strips. It's hard to say which teen costume was the favorite of the night, they each were so hysterical and on target.

Andra Yogi
Once again, it's the annual event where kids in control!! The 22nd annual slime-filled Nickelodeon spectacle held inside UCLA's Pauley Pavilion yesterday. The show started with host Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson zip-lining over the audience into a "slime temple." The star of Disney's movie Race to Witch Mountain then did some spraying to the first row of screaming teens and tweens with gooey green slime. Singer Jesse McCartney joining in to squirt them with a fake microphone, while Will Ferrell slipping and sliding down a hill.
