In the global shipping container industry fuel is also quite a large expense, and so too is the building of new mega ships capable of carrying tens of thousands of containers. Add in the challenges in the global economy and it is a recipe for disaster, especially for those companies that have expanded too quickly in the last few years.

Liverpool are definitely winners on the pitch but losers of it as not only were they involved in best match in the champions league so far when they saw off Arsenal but they also defeated Blackburn yesterday to further strengthen their hopes of qualifying for champions league next season with Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres in sparkling form. Off the pitch is another matter with no one seemingly getting along with each other. Tom Hicks cannot stand George Gillette and wants him gone.

As much as it may seem as if the Republican voters, seniors, evangelicals, and the white vote will win the election, the reality is they won't. The real winners will be corporate profits and the top 2 % of the nation. The losers in this election are also fairly clear: the environment, the working and middle class, the unemployed, immigrants, schools, teachers, public workers, and a government working for the people as opposed to corporate interests.
