Elephants in Zoos
by
Lindsay Mineo
Keeping elephants in zoos is one of the most controversial topics among zookeepers, zoo goers, conservationists and animal activists. On the one hand, without zoos it would be nearly impossible for the vast majority of people to see a live elephant, making it less likely people will feel strongly about elephant conservation. Zoos also contribute funding and research towards a better understanding of wild elephant populations, and captive elephants do serve as a nice "back-up" for the wild population should something go terribly wrong (which does occasionally happen). But on the other hand, a zoo is almost always an awful place for an elephant. There's usually not nearly enough space for an elephant to move around comfortably, they don't have natural environments and can feel caged, there isn't enough mental or physical stimulation to keep an elephant happy, and the climate can be all wrong.

Electric Vehicles: The White Elephant That Belongs in the Zoo!
by
Ian Hunterson
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, throw away your driving or motorcycle gloves for the sake of driving an electric vehicle. Electric vehicles are simply a quick fix to the current system. Yes okay, we are all going to have to use less energy which could also arguably include using less plastic junk and being more rational with our everyday vehicle usage.

Electric Train Sets - The Big Big Train
by
Jeff Moregate
The Big Big Train was an O gauge system introduced by Tri-ang into the UK market in 1966 and available until 1972. It consisted of a variety of battery powered locomotives running on bright red plastic track and the large scale meant that the system was more suitable for younger children than the more fiddly 00 gauge trains available from Hornby.
