The origin of the now world famous Mata Ortiz pottery is unique and mystifying. The discovery of shards of pottery by a young 12 year old boy named Juan Quezada from the town of Juan Mata Ortiz, as he searched the Casas Grandes ruins for firewood, would be the inspiration for him to develop his own earthenware pottery.

New Chelsea star Juan Mata returned to play against his former club as Chelsea conceded a needles penalty five minutes from the end of the their Champions League group game against Valencia, resulting in a 1-1 draw, that otherwise would have seen the Blues take all three points in an impressive performance. Chelsea veteran Frank Lampard started the game after recently being dropped to the substitutes bench, and he rewarded his manager's decision with a fine second half strike that looked to have given Chelsea the victory.
